24 in 2014 // what I’ve been reading lately
Well, I’m horribly behind in my 24 in 2014 challenge. Like atrociously. As of now, I’ve only completed 18/24 and I only have a month to read 6 books. Sooo we’ll see how that goes lol. I mean I haven’t totally lost hope…I can get through Harry Potter pretty quickly and I’ve only finished rereading the first one so far, so perhaps this series is going to be my ticket to completion of 24 in 2014 lol.
Anyway, here’s a short recap of the books I’ve been reading since I last posted about 24 in 2014 (in no particular order).
01// Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn  02// Zlata’s Diary, Zlata Filipovic
03// Cleopatra: A Life, Stacy Schiff  04// Le Dernier jour d’un condamné, Victor Hugo

05// Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, J.K. Rowling  06// The Princes in the Tower, Alison Weir
07// Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen

I HIGHLY recommend Gone Girl to anyone that hasn’t read it. This was by far my favorite book that I’ve read recently (not including Harry Potter of course because Harry always wins!)…it was gripping, suspenseful and the ending was so crazy and surprising I had to read it three times. The movie was AMAZING but as always, the book was even better. Read it!

Cleopatra was an extremely dense book, but was fantastically well-written. I was amazed at how detailed it was considering how long ago it took place (about 30 years from the year 0!). It was vivid and illustrious.

Don’t forget to add me on GoodReads! What are you reading lately?
